Description

Micro-Expansion High-Alumina Brick

Material System & Positioning

Micro-expansion high-alumina bricks expand slightly at high temperature: Al₂O₃ ≥75%, linear expansion 0.2-0.6% (1500℃), load softening point ≥1550℃. The controlled expansion compensates joint shrinkage, improving lining tightness against gas/slag leakage, with spalling and loosening resistance. It is Henan Songrui's dedicated grade for cement kiln transition and decomposition zones.

Key Performance

  • High-temperature micro-expansion: compensates joint shrinkage for tight linings.
  • Leakage prevention: blocks gas/slag passage, protecting insulation and shell.
  • Spalling resistance: resists spalling and structural loosening.
  • High load softening point: ≥1550℃.

Applications

  • Cement: kiln transition/decomposition zones, kiln hoods.
  • Lime: preheating and transition zones.
  • Non-ferrous: roaster linings.

Selection Advice

Use where joint shrinkage compensation and tightness matter; adjust expansion joint allowance to avoid excessive stress. Match with micro-expansion mortar for ideal results.

Installation & Maintenance

Lay with matching mortar, expansion joints per design; heat up steadily. Design and installation guidance available.

Key Features

  • Slight high-temperature expansion compensates joint shrinkage
  • Tightens the whole lining against gas/slag breakthrough
  • Resists spalling and structural loosening
  • For cement kiln transition and decomposition zones
  • Adjust expansion-joint design accordingly
  • Lay with matching micro-expansion mortar

Typical Applications

Micro-expansion high-alumina brick expands slightly at temperature to seal joints:

  • Cement: transition and burning zone linings, kiln hoods.
  • Steel & Iron: reheating furnace roofs, hot blast stove walls.
  • General: high-temperature masonry requiring gas tightness and integrity.
  • Advantage: service up to 1500℃, micro-expansion offsets shrinkage, improves sealing and prevents gas leakage and brick fall.

FAQs

Purpose of micro-expansion brick?

Expands slightly at temperature to fill joints, improving masonry integrity and gas tightness for roofs and sealed furnaces.

Cement kiln use?

Transition/burning zones and kiln hoods, preventing loose linings and gas leakage.

Will expansion be excessive?

Expansion is controlled (typically 0.5-1.0% linear) with expansion joints provided—no over-expansion damage.
