Description

Lightweight High-Alumina Insulating Brick

Material System & Positioning

Lightweight high-alumina insulating bricks are fired from high-alumina lightweight raw materials: Al₂O₃ ≥48%, max service 1500℃, bulk density 0.8-1.2 g/cm³ and thermal conductivity ≤0.5 W/(m·K) at 800℃. Light, low-conductivity and energy-saving, they serve as backup insulation behind hot working linings. It is Henan Songrui's professional insulation grade.

Key Performance

  • High temperature: up to 1500℃.
  • Light and energy-saving: low density and conductivity.
  • Easy handling: efficient laying.
  • Clear role: backup insulation, not for direct slag/flame exposure.

Applications

  • Steel & Iron: reheating/soaking furnace wall and roof insulation.
  • Glass/Ceramics: kiln insulation.
  • Petrochemical: heater wall insulation.

Selection Advice

Use as backup insulation behind dense working linings, never in direct slag/flame contact; lay in layers with dense linings for "dense face + light backup" combinations.

Installation & Maintenance

Lay with lightweight insulating mortar, tight joints; ensure stable bonding between backup and working layers.

  • Not for direct slag or flame impingement
  • Use with lightweight insulating mortar

Typical Applications

Lightweight high-alumina insulating brick for furnace insulation:

  • Power Boilers: boiler wall insulation, cyclone insulation, ducts.
  • Steel & Iron: reheating furnace and hot blast stove wall insulation.
  • Non-ferrous: aluminum cell insulation.
  • Petrochemical: heater wall insulation.
  • Advantage: service up to 1400℃, density 0.8-1.0 g/cm³, low thermal conductivity.

FAQs

Density of lightweight high-alumina brick?

Density 0.8-1.0 g/cm³, service up to 1400℃, low thermal conductivity.

Applications?

Boiler walls, reheating furnace insulation, cell insulation to cut heat loss.

As working layer in flame contact?

Low strength limits it to insulation; use dense bricks for flame-facing working layers.
